Enzo Maresca

The Football Association (FA) has officially concluded its disciplinary proceedings against Chelsea's manager, Enzo Marasca, following his on-field misconduct during the recent clash with Liverpool.

In a ruling announced on October 15, Maresca was handed a one-match touchline ban and ordered to pay an £8,000 fine for his actions during the intense Premier League fixture on Saturday, October 4.

Maresca was dismissed late in the game—around the 96th minute—after receiving a second yellow card during Chelsea's 2-1 home victory over Liverpool.

FA Announcement

The FA's charge specified that the manager "acted in an improper manner" and/or "used abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour." Rather than contesting the ruling, Maresca admitted the charge and accepted the standard penalty put forth by the FA.

The most immediate consequence for the club is the youchline ban, which means Maresca will not be permitted to manage from the sideline during Chelsea's next competitive match. This requires him to observe the game from the stands, forcing his coaching staff to take full control of in-game tactical decisions and communication with the players on the field.
